We are glad to
hear that everyone had a great vacation taking trips to the coast, the park,
and having lots of fun.
Now it’s time to giddy-up into business! We would like to use
this summer as an opportunity to fill in all the academic gaps, fine tune those
phonics and math skills, and prepare the kiddos for the regular school year
curriculum beginning in September. We will be sending home some activities for you to work on at
home with your kiddos that will support what we are doing at school.
In the meantime, read, read, read. Summer time is a great
time to take trips to your local library to find fun new books with your
students. Keep in mind our summer theme is The Old West and the Oregon Trail.
Books on these topics might be fun to explore.
ALSO, we will be visiting the zoo next Friday July 18th. We always suggest sending your students in comfortable walking shoes (as we will be doing ALOT), a sun hat, and a brown bag lunch with items that can be thrown away at the zoo. Your students will NOT be taking their backpacks with them so Ms. Wells and I will be carrying all lunches. If you have any questions let me know.
