Science Animals and the Bears!!!

Hi Bear Cub parents!! Just updating on how science has been going. To say it's been great is an understatement. For those who didn't know the bear cubs have been learning all about animals this month. Our main focus has been on animals they would see in the zoo to expand on the zoo field trip they had earlier this month. Some of you may have seen some of the activities we've done, monkey masks, habitat dioramas, drawing pictures of animals we have studied, etc.

Aside from all the fun crafts we've done though we've read about a new animal almost daily and just yesterday thought it would be fun to watch a video on the pets we see in our homes (since having a giraffe isn't an ideal pet). When we have some extra time left in science the bear cubs have been playing with play animals, having a blast using animal stencils to draw pictures, reading animal books on their own, playing zoo games on the class iPad, and watching a live feed of specific animals from the San Diego Zoo. Which by the way if you want to link to watch the live feed of those animals in the San Diego Zoo let me know, I'd be more than happy to send it your way, the kids can watch it for hours I'm sure! This week I've introduced some zoo/animal puzzles I found at CLASS Academy and the kids haven't seemed to tire of putting it together over and over again.

Here's just a few photos from the fun they had today during some science free time!
Using the bear stencil for his upcoming picture!

Working together to finish the puzzle!

Some dramatic play time to use what they've learned about the animals in play!

Will keep updating on our science adventures in the future!
-Ms. Peterson
